The Fantasy Bye Week Staff Writer
DFS Week 8 Plays
Hopefully all of the faithful readers took my advice last week and used our optimized lineup. If so then….CHA CHING! Lets keep this train rolling!
Premium Plays ($7,500 or more)
Russell Wilson (SEA) $8,600: Mario and I touched on this in our last podcast. Atlanta’s secondary is so terrible the opposing teams QB is almost a must play. It makes my job easy this week with Wilson facing the Falcons. He’s playing at an MVP level, and this is not the week for anything to change.
DeAndre Hopkins (HST) $8,200: Last week was a nice bounce back game for Hopkins after a rough start to the season. He just flat out has not lived up to expectations so far. As I said earlier, he looked like the Hopkins of old last week, even with a touchdown taken away from him with a tough play stoppage by the officials. I’m betting this trend will continue this week when he faces the Raiders who surrender the second most points per game to opposing left outside receivers.
Solid Starts ($6,000-$7,400)
James Conner (PIT) $7,000: Anyone listening to the podcast knows that Conner is not my favorite back in the league. This matchup is just too nice to pass up! Miami is giving up almost 29 points per game to opposing running backs... That’s a trend I expect to continue this week.
Le’Veon Bell (NYJ) $7,000: The lone bright spot for New York from the horrendous beat down the Pats put on the Jets was Bell’s performance. Even with the Pats game planning to stop him, he managed to put up a decent day. The Jags are nothing special against the run this season, and I anticipate Gase to take some pressure off of Darnold by handing the ball off a ton to Bell.
Cheap Plugs ($5,900 and under)
Ty Johnson (DET) $5,200: I know I know we’re taking a risk on this one… But I think it’s a risk worth taking. The Giants are giving up 27.5 points per game to opposing running backs and Ty Johnson us in line to get the majority of the carries with Kerryon out. This will be a fun one to watch!
New England DEF $5,000: New England is number one in almost every defensive category so far this season. They are just on such another level than any other defense this year that it’s almost idiotic to play anyone else. Remainder of the season just roll with New England unless they give us a reason not to!
